| Hello, this is yours, Synthecal. When i was in charge of another server, I made major changes to its social systems. Due to the fact that the owner basically accepted anyone as a GM, because the Application part was very simple to overcome. Any 5-year old could make an outlined application talking how good and nice they are. So I attacked that first. And here in BoredMS, I have found that the same thing. And so, I have developed a new way of writing the applications, that will benefit the server. It has several parts to it. And they are: Courage, Penmanship, Logic, and Finally, Patience. I will have some quotes by me from the other servers forums so we can analyze the parts. "First of all, the application cannot be in an outlined form, the application must be in an essay format. The essay must contain at least 5 paragraphs. The essay should not have any spelling or grammar errors. Some may argue that essays are too overdone for applications. "ITZ JUS A G@ME QQ" But I have to tell you, Game Masters are required to have great Penmanship and greater knowledge than normal players. They need to be able to communicate in formal and informal settings. "Courage, meaning to have the guts to do anything. Face it, no one likes writing essays. And that is the point. Is someone is brave enough, or has a strong desire to become a staff member, they would most likely face the challenge and write the essay like wise. "Next up, second: here I will explain what the essay should have in content. The Essay must include the following: 1.An introduction, Of course. Listing your previous positions in other servers is highly recommended, but not needed. We are in need of people in experience. 2.The Purpose of the application. Describe what the server lacks and explain what your role will be to fix it. What you specialize in. 3.The effects that will impact the server you shall guarantee.
Time for the last. Third: this is more like advice to you all. Make the essay interesting and readable. A nice headliner in the beginning and a sweet closure as an ending can deeply affect on the application. You can also add more additional information you wish to share. Like a script you made, or anything that will support you application. Think of things to say that will interest the readers. A bland and plain application may just make the judges stop reading and immediately move onto the next application."This part is where "Penmanship" and "Choice Making" takes place. The applicant needs to require a great deal of knowledge to the English language and basically anything. They need to know how to make the essay perfect and pleasing to the majority of the audience. "BUT WOAH WOAH DUDE" you may scream out, "What do you need all of this for?" Well, isn't that quite easy, a server NEEDS someone that can think logically, and knows how to express the English language perfectly. Let me repeat that, A SERVER NEEDS SOMEONE WITH SUCH CHARACTER. A staff member with great penmanship can help the server by informing players about any service. If we had a staff member that just answers players with "Ya I Lik Du BB OKi?". No one would understand him/her. And for "Logic", I do not think I need to explain all that, right? Pretty self-explanitory. 74% of the maple servers fail because they use a very simple-minded 4-year old format as an application. Resulting in choosing the wrong person. But you may think "But I know who to choose, I am smart enough..." I never questioned any administrators intelligence yet, but my system of applying people with the talent a server needs can raise the staff popularity level by around 36~74%. I have done my calculations. Sorry for making that long enough, since i would think you would be bored by now, so I did not yet include the other levels in this suggestion thread. I fear that anywhom that finishes this will have a serious mental breakdown. Sorry, Synthecal. The following below is just the exact copy of the application format I made 2 months ago. - Code:
-
Welcome, appliers. In this thread, I will be explaining the format you will be needing to use for applying for the next Game Master spot. Accually, scratch that. This thread is to change the whole system of GM Apps, not just the applications itself. You will get what I mean after you finish this thread. The new format will be slightly harder, but considering the average age of appliers are or should be in high school, it will be just another homework assignment.
Requirements! All applying must have some sort knowledge of Java Scripting(The basics) and must know much about the server. Meaning that you must have started the server and forums from at least 1 month ago. V83 does not count.
And before continuing, I almost forgot to tell you that the applications will be judged by Members of the Advice Team and Staff members lower or equal than GM lv 5. The application must have 2 of the judges accepting it, then it will go into the consideration of the "Higher ups".
[b]Please use this format for the title: [VERSION] <IN-GAMENAME>. example [v115] Hinted's Game Moderator Application.[/b] First of all, the application cannot be in an outlined form, the application must be in an essay format. I am not done yet. Comments on the applications also will be limited. People can no longer post comments that support the applier without any reasoning. Anything with the likes of "HEY _____, GL HOPES U MAKE DUH GM I <3 YU BABE U MY LYF" will be deleted. Compliments and critiques are highly recommended. For example, "You did a nice job on _______ because ________" or "I don't like the fact that you stated ________, it just does not seem right".

| The first part was to filter out the majority. The later parts require alot of brain power. We do want intelligent Staff members that are able to solve almost any problem, right? | |
